ABOUT THE PICNIC



Our Mission ... is to raise money to donate to English Mastiff rescue organizations, to encourage healthier futures of English Mastiffs through responsible breeding and to support English Mastiff health research projects. Everyone's hard work, donations, support and encouragement is what makes the picnic a success!

2016 Beneficiaries and Proceeds Distribution:

We are honored to announce this year's Rescue recipients. Proceeds from the Mastiff Picnic will be broken down and distributed as follows:

*The 20% set aside for the Mastiff Picnic will be reserved for the operating costs of the Picnic each year. These costs include our trailer license, website hosting, food, drinks, and general supplies.

We also use part of the 20% to help one or more needy mastiffs (reviewed and chosen by the Mastiff Picnic Board) that may need a lifesaving surgery or other health care costs.


Our 15th Anniversary Logo, 2016

It gives us great joy to announce the dog who graces our Special 15th Anniversary Logo. Used as our first official logo, (most of you will recognize him) we thought it only appropriate we use him to support us this year!

CH Windfalls Highland Lord Angus was born November 10, 2005 and crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 8, 2014. Owned and loved by Monica and Todd Baughman, he championed at 11 months old and loved to be the center of attention and show. Angus didn't know a stranger and had the best temperament with people and dogs of all sizes. A total social butterfly at the farmer's market, ball games and picnics. His favorite thing was his woobie, a giant ball of string that was like a pacifier. He snored like a freight train and would alternate between having the zoomies in the backyard, giving kisses and naps. He was a sweet, silly boy and fabulous ambassador of the breed.

He attended EVERY SINGLE Mastiff Picnic in his life, and we think this makes him the perfect boy to represent our special year!

The Mastiff Picnic logo will be stamped on all of our merchandise for sale, either pre-order or for purchase at the Picnic!

PICNIC DAY EVENTS



HAPPY and HEALTHY!

NOTE: If you are required to fill out paperwork for a test you would like to participate in, you MUST fill out the paperwork in its ENTIRETY before you arrive at the picnic. If your paperwork is not complete, we are sorry but we can not accept your test.

General Information

  • You must provide a copy of your dog's AKC Registration Form.
  • Please bring your checkbook, as you will be required to submit your fee on the day of the test.
  • All information is kept strictly confidential.
  • Blood will be drawn the day of the picnic by the registered technicians of the Seville Animal Hospital.
  • ** Both MALES and FEMALES are encouraged to test. **

Microchipping by AVID

This year we are excited to offer you the opportunity to have your dog(s)/puppy(ies) microchipped for the low cost of $30. No dog should be without this important means of identification. All microchips will be distributed from AVID. You can learn more about them here: Avid Identification Systems, Inc.

Cystinuria Marker DNA Test for Males and Females of All Ages

Cost is $50 for DNA/Nitroprussside and $20 for Urine only ($70 for both).

CMR/PRA health testing will be available at the picnic. You will need to bring your COMPLETED forms from Optigen to submit on the day of the picnic. You are encouraged to enter your requests online. This will allow you to pay for the tests and fill out and print your paperwork, making the process much simpler on the day of the Picnic. By submitting and printing the form online (to bring with you the day of the Picnic), you will receive a 40% discount by using the discount code shown below with the link .

Get Ready for your Family Portraits!


This year we are pleased to welcome Jason Longbrake of Columbus Pet Photography back to the Mastiff Picnic to take our family portraits.

Jason is graciously donating his time and talent in order to help you all to capture that unique and special bond you have with your pet; to capture your pet's personality while relaxing with you by their side. For a $25 donation to the Mastiff Picnic, you will receive a FREE 8X10 print, which will be mailed to you after the Picnic. You can purchase as many additional photos as you'd like! Custom Pricing for Columbus Pet Photography

Because we are confident that everyone will want their photographs taken by Jason, the following rules have been put in place in order to reduce the confusion:

  • Each session will be no longer than 15-20 minutes.
  • There will be a maximum of 15 (FIFTEEN) Slots beginning at 11:00 AM
  • Please arrive 10 minutes BEFORE your assigned time slot.
  • Depending on how busy Jason will be, we will attempt to accommodate walk-ins.

Costume Contest

Has your dog ever fantasized about being that Hunka Hunka Burning Love ... ELVIS? What about having super puppy powers? Has your girl ever said she wishes she was Lady Dog Dog (er, Ga Ga) but hid it behind her Poker Face? Maybe she has secretly desired to be Minnie Pearl but is too shy to admit it! Well, now is their chance! This year at the picnic, there will be a Costume Contest! Prizes awarded to the top three costumes.

As always, we will be holding our AMAZING Art Auction that will directly benefit 6 (SIX) incredible and very hard-working Mastiff Rescue Organizations!
